Format of Competition:-

In order to make the competition more appealing to pool players in general, we have restricted entries to a maximum of one professional or international pool player in each pair. The competition will be run as a knockout and will be the best of five frames throughout. The first four games will be singles with each player in a pair playing each of the other two, if the score goes to two all, a doubles game will be played to determine the winning pair. For example, if a pair consisting of two players A and B are drawn to play another pair C and D, firstly, A will play C and B will play D, then A will play D and B will play C. If both pairs have won two games, A and B will play C and D in one doubles game to decide the match. <top>

Conditions of entry:-

Matches will be best of 5 frames throughout. Each player in a pair will play a single frame against each of the players in the opposing pair. The first pair to win 3 frames wins the match. If the score goes to 2 all, the pairs will play a doubles frame to determine the winner. World 8 Ball Pool Rules will apply for all matches. In any pair, there may be a maximum of one professional or international pool player. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry. If less than 30 pairs enter, the prize fund may be reduced at the discretion of the organisers. In all matters, the organisers decision will be final. Entries should be sent together with the appropriate fee (cheques payable to SCPA) in advance to Premier Pool Club at the address above. <top>

Results:-

A great day was had by all those attending, there were a few less entries than had been expected so the competition was played over best of nine frames with each person playing singles against each of the opposing pair twice. Final doubles to be played if the score went to four all.

Both semi finals were played to the line with both requiring a doubles game to determine who the finalists would be. Semi-Final and Final results were as follows:-
